Land of untouched natural beauty and spirituality, Uttarakhand is a
Himalayan state of North India, famously known as Devbhumi (or the Land
of the Gods). Carved out from Uttar Pradesh, the state, formerly known
as Uttaranchal, is a place that not only boasts of a scintillating view
of the Himalayas but also exhibits a cultural ethos which speaks of a
harmonic coexistence with nature.
With oaks, birches, silver firs and rhododendrons adorning the steep mountain slopes, Uttarakhand offers you a glimpse into an untainted and idyllic world.

Places to visit in Uttarakhand
Mussourie
Mussourie is often called as Mansoori by the locals. The name is derived from a shrub called Mansoor which is indigenous to the area. A perfect holiday spot for family, there are many places like Kempty falls, Bhatta falls, Clouds end, Lal Tibba etc which are unique and beautiful. Kempty falls is the main attraction and at any time of the day you are sure to see atleast a 100 visitors in the waterfall! Frequent "Excuse me bhaiya, please move, need to take a photo etc" need to be digested while taking bath. Still it is a nice experience considering the cool weather. We had a hot plate of maggi just after the dip and it was heavenly!
Rishikesh
Haridwar
Nainital
The immediate draw is the crescent shapes of Naini Lake from which the name Nainital has been derived. The experience of boating in the wonderful weather with enchanting sights all around is something difficult to forget.
Another lure is the exotic Nainital Zoo, with its many exquisite species. Some other attractions such as the Eco Cave Garden and the Astronomy Institution ARIES identify Nainital with nature studies and exploration. Located at a height of 1,938 meters above sea level, Nainital is also famously referred to as the Lake District of India.
